HerGov is nonpartisan organization dedicated to getting more teenage girls involved in their local government & politics, as well as educated in civics.​

There is a pressing need for more gender equality in today's government. HerGov's motto, "Because it's her government too." summarizes this need. Our government is supposed to represent all of its citizens equally. Therefore, the demographics of those who make up our government should reflect the demographic of the general population. However, they currently don't, with women constantly being outnumbered by men in multiple types of public offices.

HerGov is dedicated to change this. By increasing exposure to the inner workings of government & politics to today's teenage girls, we can ensure that tomorrow's government can better represent society as a whole.

HerGov programming consists of both an online magazine & a fellowship program. Both are meant to educate teenage girls in civics, and provide real exposure, and even experience, to the field of government and politics.

Initiatives
Fellowship Program
Our fellowship program is meant to give teen girls resources and real-life experience in civics. This program will help them get their foot in the door for future careers in civics, government, law, & politics!

Currently our fellowship is hybrid, meaning a mix of online & in-person. This fellowship program is meant for teenage girls, grades 9-12, in Maricopa County, AZ.
​
Plans to expand the fellowship program online to areas outside of Maricopa County are in the works! Learn more here!​​
Our magazine releases a new issue every 2 months! Written by a team of enterprising teenage girls, the HerGov magazine is filled with fun and informative content!

Some of our content includes: informative articles, short stories, quizzes, reports on current events, changemaker highlights, international affairs, and more!
