Founder & President
Bri Blair
Hi everyone! My name is Bri (she/they) & I’m currently 15 as well as a rising high school junior! I started HerGov earlier this year because I’ve been working in local politics for quite a while now, but have always noticed large gender discrepancies in both our local & federal government. My passions are government & politics, with a specific focus on youth civic education. I intend to bring my knowledge of & experience in local government/politics, & my passion for civics to HerGov! I’ve worked as a campaign intern before, served on a legislative district board, done voter outreach, policy research, & more! Outside of civics, I love reading, mock trial, scrapbooking, & listening to music!

Vice President
Aera Rege
Hi! My name is Arushi (Aera) Rege. I'm 16 years old, I use they/them pronouns, and I'm a rising senior at Hamilton High School. I joined HerGov as the Vice President of the Arizona branch because I truly believe in making politics, especially local politics, more accessible to everyone. I work extensively in the political field, especially in activism and accessibility. I also intern with the UN, which has allowed me to gain a lot of experience with government overall. I'm really excited to work with HerGov and make politics accessible for women throughout Arizona!

Secretary
Baikal Padilla-Garcia
Hey there, I'm Baikal Sofia Padilla-Garcia. I'm 16 and go by she/her pronouns. I love languages, speaking three fluently and am tackling three more as we speak. My passion for linguistics intertwines with my ambition to delve into international relations/law/politics. That's precisely why I found my way into HerGov. I'm determined to make a significant impact by fostering greater participation of girls in these fields. As a member of HerGov, I aim to contribute my linguistic skills, strategic thinking, and enthusiasm to empower young women. Beyond working with HerGov, you can find me exploring new cultures, geeking out about languages, doing mock trial, and savoring the delights of literature.

Treasurer
Shriya Tummala
Hi! My name is Shriya Tummala (she/her) and I am a rising junior at Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix. I play club tennis, am a part of my school’s robotics and mock trial teams, and have been a classical dancer for around 9 years. I am also the co-founder of three student-run organizations. I am super excited to announce that I will be HerGov’s treasurer for this upcoming year! I joined HerGov because I truly believe that civic education is an essential component of a female student’s skillset regardless of their career interests. With more and more people, especially girls, beginning to lack an interest in our country’s political system, it is crucial that programs like these be instated to promote legislative awareness. With a solid background in financial principles and fundraising, I am confident that I will be able to help the team create new opportunities for HerGov.

As the captain of Speech and Debate, as well as an active mock trial member and political advocate, my interest in politics has been unwavering throughout the years . I hope to go major in political science, and eventually go to law school, so I can use the knowledge I have gathered to help better our country. I plan to contribute my exemplary public speaking skills and political research to HerGov and I would love to see this amazing organization spread further.

Civic Education Chair
Nila Kumara
Hi I’m Nila and I’m HerGov’s Civic Education Chair! My pronouns are she/her and I’m 15 years old. I joined HerGov to spread awareness about current policy and events to girls my age. If you asked me about politics and our government 2 years ago, I would be clueless. Since then I’ve joined speech and debate, taken a course in PoliSci, worked with the Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and more. Beyond academics, I fill my time with sports, music, friends, and Suits. Most importantly, I love my Black Rock raspberry fuels!
